TMCF United Nations Day
On June 20-21, 2013, the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF), in partnership with the Humpty Dumpty Institute (HDI, will take a delegation to New York for a day and half of events and exclusive meetings at the United Nations (UN).
Some of the highlights of the trip include:
- The signing of an agreement with the Taiwan Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) followed by a reception
- Briefings and meetings with senior officials of the United Nations
- A special, private meeting with U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon
This strategic partnership with the Humpty Dumpty Institute will better position TMCF and its member-schools to thrive in the global economy of tomorrow. In February, TMCF expanded its partnership with HDI’s Higher Education Alliance to include five member-schools. The Alliance will provide participating schools with an in-depth introduction to the UN and give the schools an opportunity to co-host senior UN officials, diplomats and leaders in world affairs as guest lecturers. The students will have opportunities to engage in intensive orientation sessions, seminars and conferences to better understand the inner workings of the UN and its role in shaping global policies. HDI played a major role in the success of TMCFs fact-finding mission to Taiwan in March and will continue to work closely with the organization in establishing partnerships with world-class universities.
