ABOUT THE PROGRAM:
The Thurgood Marshall College Fund and U.S. Army are in partnership to promote educational opportunities and scholarships for African-American students through the Army’s ROTC program. This partnership addresses the shortage of African-Americans pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) and is looking to attract the best and brightest African-American high school students to give them the chance to become the next generation of military officer leaders by applying for a 2-, 3- or 4-year ROTC scholarship.
STUDENT PROFILE:
- An African-American high school junior or senior, or college freshman or sophomore
- Have a 3.7 high school cumulative GPA, or a 3.7 college cumulative GPA
- Have minimum scores of 1260 SAT or 27 ACT
- Have earned a varsity letter or participated in sports through clubs or other teams
ROTC BENEFITS:
- Debt Free Education - Tuition paid up to 100%
- Monthly stipend
- Retirement pension

- Guaranteed job security upon graduation
- Early retirement after 20 years of service
ROTC REQUIREMENTS:
- 4 semesters on campus
- 4 year active service commitment upon completion of program (active duty, reserve duty, national guard)
- 4 year inactive service commitment (active duty, reserve duty, national guard)
